The Glassboro Elite Lightning U14B teams great run through the New Jersey Youth Soccer State Cup ended on Saturday with a loss to the Hackensack Royals.
The Lightning who have been playing together for only three months exceeded all expectations by getting to the quarter final game and played some great soccer along the way.
The team defeated the Hazlet Sting, Princeton Celtic and the North Brunswick Arsenal. Unfortunately they ran into a hot Hackensack Royals team that made the 2.5 hour trip to Glassboro and came away with a victory.
We want to congratulate the Lightning players and coaches for a job well done. We look for big things from the boys in next years State Cup.
